Did you look this up on the Tricare Website?
Not really, anymore, esp if you are a dependent of a Servicemember. If you are the servicemember, then you MIGHT be able to get a cosmetic surgery…if you can get on the schedule. Nowadays there has been a backlog of servicemembers who have needed reconstructive surgeries that are performed by the Plastic Surgeons, so the Plastic Surgeons schedules are booked solid with medically necessary procedures rather than elective ones.
So, it was true some time ago that servicemembers and dependents could get some kind of cosmetic surgery at little to no cost rather easily. But no more.
I have only ran into one person so far and she was a dependent and got that done. Had something to do with self moral. not sure how much they pickup if any but heard they did. Her daughter had it done a few later. Not sure why they she had enough now her mom on the other hand was pretty flat was not even an egg fried from what I could tell. Her husband was a rather airregunt SOB but I guess he had to be in ways. He was the only child and pretty much got what he wanted when he wanted it. She was not the sharpest tool in the tool shed I think she had been left in the rain a few times.
No, it will be denied. My friend in the Air Force had a hard time getting a breast reduction, they were too big that she was having serious back problems, they ended up letting her have the surgery though, but it wasn’t easy. I am pretty sure your friend was told a lie.
Fiction
There is only one country at the moment that will pay for breast implants if you are in the Navy, and that country is Australia, they cover it because they belive that it makes the women more self-cofident, in return making them better solders.
