    The ones posted on specific surgeon’s websites are real. They have you sign a waiver to let them post the pics. On my surgeon’s site you could tell it was the same person before and after.

    Many posted on the blogs (not mine of course ;) ) are fake. I would hope these posted at surgeon’s websites are real, but have seen some that look “shopped.” The bottom line is that it varies.

    Plastic Surgeons are under moral and legal obligation to disclose whether or not the photos feature real patients or models. Doctors have lost their medical licenses and/or board certifications for doing this.

    However, if a doctor takes an image of real patients and photoshops them to look better than they actually do, there’s little or no means to prove that they did.
